How We Use This Product

As I mentioned, our family has some very unique learning needs. It’s why we got into homeschooling in the first place. There is no one thing that seems to work for all of my children. That is until we found I love the idea that they offer such a variety of courses. Not only can my kids find things they are intersted in, I can find resources that help my children succeed.

My middle school son got his first real camera for Christmas this year, and he wanted to learn how to us it. Of course, his first thought was YouTube. However, I encouraged him to check out the electives list on, and he found a really great photography course.

Photography course

He has only had the chance to look at the first two lesson, but he was happy that even with these first few lessons, he is learning about things like aparature, focus, and choosing a subject. The nice thing about the electives courses, is that you don’t have to be a full-time homeschool family to enjoy them. I took a look at the photography course, and I might actually take it myself. It would be great to be able to improve this quality of pictures I take for this blog.

My daughter does a little bit more within She is working through the “Independent Mornings Work for Kinders” at the moment. Each morning she starts her day with a worksheet or two that reinforces her regular language arts and math learning. This give mom 20 minutes or so to get myself ready for the day, while she gets to practice her skills.

Some game choices in the “Every Day Games” course.

She needs a lot of extra reinforcement to keep her skills up and moving. Since she loves to play games, “Every Day Games” is great for her. There are lots of fun printable games to help reinforce math and language skills that she really likes to play. With her speech impairment, rhyming words are very difficult for her. There are games that work on this skill, which makes this difficult task a lot more fun.

Our Thoughts… is an impressive resource for homeschool or even after school. The courses are high quality, and easy to use. It is very nice to sort of feel like you are going to the homeschool library to find the perfect resources and courses for your family.
