Dating During a Pandemic Can Be A Lot of Fun!

This pandemic seems to be dragging on, and though there seems to be a slight light at the end of the tunnel, it is going to continue well into 2021. I am sure of that! The memory of dates with my husband are fading fast, especially with our 19th anniversary coming up quite soon. This is why we have come up with some fun ways of dating during a pandemic that might just work for you too! Here is what we found…

Dating In Can Be a Fun Change!

One of the best things we have done is to start dating in. Whether you are single or committed, this is the new way of dating. Pick out a movie, cook a nice themed dinner together and watch something fun while you eat. Finding ways to have a little bit of respite time together can make all the difference. Make sure you light lots of candles, put some essential oils in the diffuser, and make a cozy spot on the sofa with lots of pillows and blankets.

Single and not quite to the sitting on the couch together stage? Why not break out the technology and try a virtual date? Platforms like Netflix and Disney+ have created the virtual movie night. Netflix Teleparty is probably the easiest platform to use as it allows you to sync video playback and add chats to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and HBOMax. Via platforms such as Skype, Zoom, and Google Meet, you can “cook dinner together” as well!

Virtual Tours Can Feel Like an Adventure!

Another fun way to feel like you are going out while staying home is the virtual tour. There are quite a lot of virtual tours floating around Facebook these days! I have been to the US National Parks, Germany, France, Italy, and even a cave tour all from the comfort of my own living room. Cook a meal from the country of choice, add a few country specific decorations, and you have a really fun date that didn’t involve exposing yourself to Covid. To get you started on your journeys, Travel + Leisure has some great trips just waiting for you!

Dating Sites Are The New Club Scene!

Being single during a pandemic can be quite isolating. We aren’t going to work, school, or even the grocery store very much. And we forget about the club scene! So what do you do to grab that date to bring home for Christmas, or who do you spend New Year’s Eve with (even if it’s virtual)?

Dating sites have become a huge relief to singles during this pandemic. Dating sites like Los Angeles Personals is a great way to find that someone special without having to leave your living room. The nice thing about dating sites is that they allow you to find someone that matches your personality and interests. Just like virtual dates are the hottest thing for couples right now, virtual matches are the hottest thing for singles.

Take Out at the Beach Can Be Extremely Romantic!

Dating in Los Angeles means dating on the beach, right? When you do find your match or maybe even matches *wink, wink*, a great place to have that first meeting is of course the beach. Grab take-out from Malibu Farm, and take a socially distanced walk along Malibu Beach. It’s easy to have a fun, socially distanced first date that you just might tell your future kids about!

Dinner Date and Video Games Do Go Together!

Something that my husband and I have yet to try (but are thinking about) is dinner and a video game night. We have watched almost everything on Netflix (just a few more episodes of our latest binge left), and so video game dates might be the next step in our romance. There are so many games to choose from, and even if you aren’t ready to visit each other’s places just yet, Pokemon Go is a great game you can play while socially distancing outside.
