The holidays are over now, and life should be returning to normal for most of us. But if your house is anything like mine, that does not mean it is stress free. This month alone we have five trips to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, a major surgery to plan for this March, and battles with school that would make Mother Theresa swear. Does this sound familiar? I bet it does, because it happens in lots and lots of houses.
I am happy to report that there could be respite in your near future, and it won’t break the bank. That’s right, affordable parent respite does exist and you don’t have to be riding a unicorn to find it. For a very limited time, like this coming Monday, January 22nd, you can book yourself a respite weekend with your significant other to the Chula Vista Resort for very little money. The Chula Vista is located in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, so for most of us who live in the Midwest, this is an easy spot to get to. There are dates available from January through March. Even though it needs to be booked soon, you have plenty of time before arrival.
Everything Including the Kitchen Sink!
They have a special offer right now that includes two nights hotel room, an insane amount of amenities, and their 80,000 square foot indoor water park. They also have an onsite spa called the Spa Del Sol, and during this offer, you receive a coupon for 20% off any of their services. If this hasn’t peaked your interest yet, let me tell you about the amenities included. In addition to everything I mentioned, you also get unlimited drinks (tap beer, house wine, rail liquor, and soft drinks), breakfast at Kilbourn City Grill, and dinner at your choice of three onsite locations (excluding Kaminski Brother’s Chop Shop). Though the deal includes a regular hotel room, this offer can be upgraded to a larger room or a condo with a full kitchen.
Things to Do While You Are There
My husband and I try to do this respite trip whenever we can. We love the low crowds, the fact that it is all inclusive, and the $199 per couple price tag. Going to a water park without kids is fun too. Riding down the lazy river with just my husband, not worrying about where the kids are is so relaxing. And since the Chula Vista is in the Wisconsin Dells, we go out and do some shopping and exploring. There are a lot of fun things to do in the Wisconsin Dells. We never miss going to the Tanger Outlet Mall to check out the Disney Store when we are in the Dells.
My personal favorite thing to do at the Chula Vista is the heated, outdoor hot tub. It overlooks the Wisconsin River, which makes the views pretty spectacular. Since this in an adults only spot, you won’t be interrupted by someone else’s kids when you are on respite from your own.
I highly recommend this VIP parent respite to anyone that needs to get away! For more information you can go to the Chula Vista website. If you would like help with planning a respite weekend such as this one, click here.
