Drive Thru History: Helping Families Learn Archeology (Review)

Disclaimer:  I received a FREE copy of this product through the HOMESCHOOL REVIEW CREW in exchange for my honest review.  I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way.

Have you ever wondered if archeology is anything like what they portray in the movies? Or, maybe you know someone who questions the historical accuracy of the Bible. If so, you will want to check out the newest series from Drive Thru History® Adventures called, Bible Unearthed. Drive Thru History has been a favorite in our family for years, so when we heard about this newest series, we were very excited to be part of this review. Here is what we found… Drive Thru History® Adventures

A Little Bit About Drive Thru History® Adventures

Drive Thru History® Adventures is a video series and Bible curriculum starring Dave Stotts. With each series, viewers are virtually driven to various places where history was made. All of the videos display Biblical art pieces that most of us will never be able to view in person as well. If you would like to use each series as a Bible study or a homeschool curriculum, they also offer worksheets, suggested writing assignments, and other resources to make that possible.

A Little Bit About Bible Unearthed

Most of the Drive Thru History® Adventures courses bring history to life. Bible Unearthed is a bit different, as it takes you through the processes of archeology, and shows you what happens at an actual archeological dig site. Like with the places and art pieces shown in the other courses, Bible Unearthed allows viewers to go right into a dig site that most of us will never have the opportunity to do in real life.

How We Used This Product

We are using Bible Unearthed as our weekly family Bible study curriculum. Each Friday night, we sit down as a family and watch the week’s video. I hook my laptop up to our TV so that is is easier for everyone to see. The videos are not long (about 15 minutes each).

When the video is finished, we take turns reading the text that goes along with the video. We follow up with the questions that are provided, which helps bring up great discussions. Our studies typically take about an hour, unless the discussion gets good, and then it can be much longer.

Our Thoughts…

Chris (Mom)

“We have always loved the Drive Thru History Adventure series, and Bible Unearthed does not disappoint. We get to come along on an actual dig and hear from an actual archeologist. And nothing makes me happier than when the Bible is proved to be historically accurate.”

Zach (age 18)

“It is nice that they have an actual archeologist in this series, so it makes it easier to learn about archeology. You get to see this from an archeologists point of view.”

Seth (age 14)

“What I really enjoy about Bible Unearthed is that it has almost a conversational or podcast sort of feel to it. It goes really in depth and shows really nice visuals.”

Review Crew Thoughts…

You don’t have to take our word for it though. Other Review Crew families have been working hard to bring you a great review as well. I highly recommend that you check out all of the Review Crew reviews.
