What is MESSYLEARNING for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners?

MESSYLEARNING is a comprehensive program that teaches early learning concepts in a fun and hands-on way.  Though my kids are older than the appropriate age, I do have a daughter with Down Syndrome that liked watching the engaging learning videos.  She is at the toddler stage in development, so the rest of the curriculum will need to wait for awhile.  However, for typical kiddos, the curriculum would be perfect.

Your child will learn how to use a story, story comprehension, letters and letter sounds and so much more.  This is a monthly program, and it comes with so many fun activities and things to do, that you will definitely keep your child very busy.

We tried the Christmas curriculum which has a holiday themed story and activities.  Included in each month is a story and a workbook.  The story is interactive and has fun animations.  My daughter especially loved this part. The month of December covers the letters “J,” “L,” and “F.”  These letters are highlighted in words throughout the workbooks, so your child can begin to find them in the text.

You will begin with the story and then have your child complete the activities.  I would encourage you to have your child watch the story several times as there are quite a few activities that your child will need to remember parts or all of the story to complete.  Since the story has some substance, reviewing the story more than once will help your child remember more.

The curriculum is highly engaging, funny and hands-on. All features we look for in our house when purchasing a curriculum.

The curriculum is highly engaging, funny and hands-on.  All features we look for in our house when purchasing a curriculum.  I would like to have seen a day-to-day lesson plan that walked me through what I should be focusing on each day.  If they have one, I did not see it.  Not everyone will need or even want this feature, but I like something to follow.

My older daughter tried out some of the letter recognition activities that came with the MESSYLEARNING, and she found them to be fun.  She is learning early reading concepts, so this was a review for her.  You can see some photos of her work to get an idea of some of the fun things there are to do.
